Terms of service
The agreement between you and Polisher. Last updated 16 October 2026.
Who we are
Polisher is run by Cameron Pittaway, Aberdeen, Scotland. Email: polisher.help@gmail.com. Postal address: 17 Park Road, Aberdeen AB15 9HR.
Who can use Polisher
You must be 18 or over and live in the UK to use Polisher.
The service
Polisher rewrites text you paste so it reads more like the writing samples you provide, then removes common AI habits and uses British spelling.
Rewrites are made by AI and can contain mistakes. Check every rewrite before you use it. You are responsible for what you send or publish.
Assessed work
Do not use Polisher for coursework, exams, dissertations or any other assessed work you must do yourself, or anywhere you are required to say that you used AI and have not. We may close accounts used this way, with a refund of any unused paid time.
Free trial
You can try one rewrite free without an account, once from each browser (and at most twice a day from one connection). Each account also has 3 free rewrites in all, and a free try counts as the first of them: the first two are shown in full, and the third is made but stays locked until you subscribe. There are no more free rewrites after that. Free drafts can be up to 300 words. Free rewrites share a daily limit for everyone: if it is reached, free rewrites pause until the next day. Creating extra accounts, or using other connections, to get more is not allowed.
Subscription and payment
The subscription costs £5 a month, including any VAT due, charged by Stripe today and then on the same date each month until you cancel. There is no minimum term.
You can stop future payments at any time from your account. You keep access until the end of the month you have paid for, and you will not be charged again.
The subscription includes 300 credits each billing month, and up to 60 of them can be used in one day. The daily count resets at midnight UK time and the monthly count on your billing date. Credits are used by the word: 1 credit is 100 words of draft or notes, and each rewrite counts at least 50 words, so a 30-word message uses half a credit and a 250-word draft uses 2.5. Drafts can be up to 1,000 words. A rewrite that fails, or that the AI refuses, uses no credits. Unused credits do not carry over to the next month. Your account shows how much you have left. If a draft needs more credits than you have left, you can shorten it or wait until they reset.
Your legal right to cancel
You can cancel a new subscription for any reason within 14 days of the day you subscribe. To cancel, email polisher.help@gmail.com and say you want to cancel. You can use the form below, but you don't have to. We will refund every payment you have made, in full, within 14 days of your email, to the card you paid with, and your subscription will end.
Starting straight away: when you subscribe, you ask us to start your subscription straight away, inside the 14 days. The law would let us keep a fair amount for the days you used before cancelling. We don't: you get a full refund.
After 14 days, you can still have a full refund of any payment made in the last 30 days (see the refund policy), and you can stop future payments at any time from your account.
Cancellation form. To: Cameron Pittaway (Polisher), 17 Park Road, Aberdeen AB15 9HR, polisher.help@gmail.com. I cancel my contract for the Polisher subscription. Subscribed on: (date). Name: (your name). Email used to pay: (your email). Date: (today's date).
Refunds
You can have a full refund of any payment made in the last 30 days, no questions asked. See the refund policy.
Fair use
Do not use Polisher for anything unlawful, to harass or deceive people, to break someone else's rights, or to overload or copy the service. Accounts that do may be closed, with a refund of any unused paid time.
Your writing
You own your samples, drafts and rewrites. You let us process them only to provide the service to you.
Changes and closure
We may change the service or these terms to improve Polisher, fix problems, keep costs under control or follow the law. We will email account holders at least 30 days before any price rise or any change that makes the service worse for you, and you can cancel before it applies and get a refund of any unused paid time.
If we close Polisher, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email and refund any unused paid time.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Otherwise we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim. This limit does not affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to have the service put right, or to a price reduction or refund.
Law
These terms are governed by Scots law. If you live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, you also keep the protection of the law where you live and can bring proceedings in your local courts. If we ever need to bring proceedings against you, we will do so only in the courts where you live.
